Mark Pachtner
Mark H. Pachtner, an USPTA Elite Professional & PTR Professional member, is the Director of Tennis at Troon Country Club in Scottsdale, AZ. Only 8% of all US certified teaching professionals carry the highest level of certifications. 

Mark most recently was awarded the 2012 USTA Central Arizona Mike Rodriquez Amabassador of Tennis Award for Sportsmanship and growing the game and the USPTA Southwest honored Mark H. Pachtner with the 2010 Stars Award. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the community, either through tennis or other endeavors, with the main focus on grassroots level of play. Mark will direct and host the sixth annual Special Olympics Tennis Fun Day at Troon January 23, 2016, with over 210+ athletes and volunteers participating in the event. Mark raised over $100,000 and personally donated over $10,000 for Quick Start equipment and racquets for the Special Olympics AZ.
Furthermore, Mark partnered with the USTA Southwest (Central Arizona) in promoting grassroots tennis through Quick Start Tennis clinics and he offered free beginner classes at Troon CC and Scottsdale elementary schools.

Troon Country Club was named one of the top 50 private Country Clubs in the nation for 2009.

Mark was the Professional Skills Coach for the Boys High School team at Notre Dame Preparatory School in Scottsdale from 2011 - 2013 and his team was the Division II State runner up in 2013 & 2011. He served on the USPTA Southwest Board as Secretary through 2015. Mark also was appointed to the USTA Southwest Community Tennis Committee.

Mark specializes in private and group lessons, Cardio Tennis sessions, USTA 10andunder Tennis, team clinics, Junior development and high performance training.

Mark previously was the director of tennis at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California. He served as president and a member of the USPTA Georgia Chapter board from 2001-2005, and he served from 2000-2003 on the board of the Georgia Professional Tennis Association. In 2002 he was honored as the USPTA Georgia Pro of the Year. He was also inducted into the 2001-2002 edition of the "International Who's Who of Professional Management." Mark also was a speaker at the USPTA Florida Convention in 2008 and annual German Coaches Conference in Munich and presented at the PTR symposium. Mark was recognized for his continuing education by the USPTA and PTR again in 2012. 

As a professional, Mark enjoys being in contact with a broad range of people. "I like to pass on my enthusiasm about tennis and sports to children, juniors and adults. In my 20+ years of coaching and teaching, I developed my own unique style of teaching children and adults that is grounded in having fun first, followed by learning," he says.

Mark has organized 20+ USTA sanctioned tournaments and implemented Cardio Tennis and 10andunderTennis Play Format programs at past clubs. In his continued effort to grow the game, Mark worked with Pete Sampras, Stan Smith and Luke Jensen. For the past 14 years he organized the annual "Special Olympics Tennis Fun Day" and raised money for charities such as Susan G. Komen. 

Mark has a BS in Sports Management from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany.

He was director of tennis for 10 years in Germany and played professionally, before he made his move to the United States in 1998. 

Mark has been a member of the Team Wilson since 1999.

Aside from tennis Mark enjoys skiing, hiking and he, along with his wife Melinda, foster Golden Retrievers in need.
